Data collected: When you create a user account, the information you give to us (such as your name, email address, password etc.) is stored on our server. We log the time and your ip each time you login. 

We store your program files and retain the data on your exercises.

vLab will not sell your user data to third parties, nor will we send you email without your consent. vLab retains your email address mainly as a means of authentication. Your instructor may contact you through vLab via the email on record. 

Access to data: No other user can see your account information other than yourself. Any files stored in your home directory are only accessible by you. Your instructors and TAs may with authorized accounts are able to view your submissions, results from the exercises, and track your progress on the assignments.

Security: All pages of vLab require a valid user login except for the front pages. Passwords are encrypted in our database so that if there is ever an unauthorized access breach, plain-text passwords will not be visible to the attacker.  vLab conduct routine security audits on its code as well as server logs to avoid bugs that can lead to unauthorized access or detect data breaches.

Where data is processed: vLab system is run on dedicated servers administrated by vLab staff members.

Changes to the privacy policy: If the privacy policy changes, the changes will be posted here on this page.
